LIBRARIAN
35 hours per week
One year maternity leave position with probability of becoming full-time
Our library is the information hub of our wonderful school. It is seen as a model library, often used by agencies such as the National Library for school library development workshops. Its purpose is to support and enrich our learning community. It is also fundamental to our absolute commitment to, and all pervading joy of, books and reading.
The librarian assumes overall responsibility for the library, including financial responsibility and reporting to management and the Board. S/he is also required to teach a sequential information literacy programme to small groups of children from Y3-Y8. Library qualifications and previous experience preferred; the ability to connect with children, a genuine love of books and children’s writing, and the willingness to contribute to a high-performing, fun-loving team is essential. The successful candidate will take on the role from Monday 23 August 2010, although there will be a negotiated induction/transition period prior to this.
